The first cave paintings appeared 37 thousand years ago. Each discovered drawing became a national treasure, thoroughly studied and protected by the state.

Many contemporaries are haunted by the laurels of the ancient ancestors and they are drawn to immortalize the walls with their inscriptions and drawings.

Everyone saw, and maybe he himself put his hand to the inscription: “There was …”, “Lena + Roma = love”, etc. It seemed so important and cool that maybe someone will see your inscription and really feel its deep meaning.

Someone developed their abilities, took a can of paint and began to create more global things. But as time shows, there are very, very few real masterpieces of graffiti, namely this name was given by scientists to scratched drawings on rocks (the term directly derives from the Italian verb graffiare – “to scratch”), but the walls, which suffered from the hobby of “artists” lot.

In addition to graffiti drawings, the walls began to use various telegram channels for the distribution of prohibited psychotropic drugs. More and more inscriptions with channel addresses appear every day. And one of the ways to fight caring citizens is to paint over such inscriptions.

So we have the fact that the walls of buildings, historical monuments are painted by artists, drug dealers and people who are fighting with them, and just people who want to write “Lucy, I love you”, having made at least one grammatical mistake.

This trend is typical not only for Ukraine, it is developed all over the world. If we differ from other peoples in mentality, skin color, then this does not apply to the inscriptions on the walls. Expressing yourself through painting the walls is what unites all people on planet Earth.

Europe, America passed the period when a ban was introduced for graffiti and any artistic vandalism brought a fine or deprivation of will.

But over time, they realized that the ban leads to even greater confrontation and a desire to do evil, so the authorities decided to officially authorize the painting of the walls and allocated special places for this in the city. Also, special projects were developed for drawings on buildings, the so-called murals, which become another visiting card of the city.

There are famous graffiti that are no less recognizable than Da Vinci’s La Gioconda.

The most famous and recognizable graffiti for me is painted by the artist Dmitry Vrubel on a section of the Berlin wall and is called “Brotherly Kiss”.

And the most famous contemporary artist, whose graffiti is no less mysterious and scandalous than the artist’s personality, is Banksy. And the act of vandalism is no longer the appearance of new drawings by this artist, but their destruction.

But this is really about modern subculture and works of art, of which there are not so many.

But the inscriptions, the painting of the walls of buildings, fences, there are much more than talents. And if the drawings appear in unidentified places, this is already regarded as vandalism.

The task of law enforcement agencies is to catch and punish the violators, and the task of the municipal authorities, as well as the owners of buildings, is to restore their structures to their original appearance.

Drawings and graffiti are not the worst thing that can appear on buildings. In second place for pollution caused by people are advertisements. And as soon as one appears, it’s like a signal – this place is created for announcements! And advertising begins to multiply exponentially. No wall space – we will stick over the old advertisement.
