In Ukraine’s only professional magazine for engineers, chief engineers and company executives – “The Chief Engineer Magazine” our article was published on cleaning ventilation systems.
The article focuses on why it is necessary to clean the ventilation, as in Ukraine legislatively regulated the observance of cleanliness in the ventilation system. You can also find out how often it is necessary to clean the ventilation system and a modern approach to cleaning ventilation without disassembling the air ducts.
The printed version of the article can be seen in the 9th issue of the Journal of the Chief Engineer for this year; the electronic version can be read on our website in the article section.
Intake and exhaust ventilation systems are lightweight buildings. The condition of their service, the quality of the air and the fire safety of the building will depend on their condition.
During the operation of the ventilation system, debris, dust, grease, dirt accumulates in the ventilation ducts and other elements. It is also an ideal medium for the multiplication of bacteria, fungi, molds and other dangerous microorganisms.
IMPORTANTLY
Dirt build-up causes the air ducts to narrow, which increases the load on electrical ventilation systems. The risk of fire, smoke, and other emergencies in businesses is increasing.
Ukrainian legislation has clear requirements for the cleaning of ventilation systems – each company must develop and approve its own regulation on the cleaning of ventilation ducts, as well as keep a journal of cleaning ventilation.
According to the Fire Safety Rules in Ukraine approved by the order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine № 1417 of 30.12.2014:
A fire control shall be installed on each object (order, instruction, etc.), including:
the procedure for keeping evacuation routes;
cleaning of combustible dust and waste, storage of oiled clothing and rags, cleaning of ventilation system elements from combustible deposits.
Constructions of exhaust units, apparatus, pipelines should prevent the accumulation of fire hazardous deposits and allow them to be cleaned by fire-fighting methods. Cleaning operations must be carried out systematically in accordance with technological regulations and recorded in the appropriate journal.
It is necessary to observe the following periodicity of cleaning of elements of ventilation systems:
1. All systems of inflow and exhaust ventilation – once a year.
2. Systems used in production – once every six months.
3. Systems used for the preparation of foodstuffs and systems with a high level of fire danger – once every 1-3 months.
Previously, the problem of air duct cleaning was solved by replacement. There are now special technologies that make it possible to remove grease and dirt in ducts along their entire length without disassembling ventilation ducts.
Ventilation system cleaning is a complete set of engineering activities, consisting of the following steps:
1. Conducting a preliminary video inspection to evaluate the internal condition of the ventilation ducts along the entire length of the ducts.
2. Cleaning and disinfection with a special brush machine along the entire length of the ventilation ducts without disassembly. If necessary, use a vacuum unit to simultaneously remove dirt and inspectors to monitor the workflow.
3. Repeated video inspection, confirming the result and quality of the work performed.
Who to trust to clean ventilation?
A number of criteria should be considered when choosing a contractor:
– All work should be carried out only by specialized companies using modern diagnostic equipment (special robot inspector) and cleaning of ventilation systems (brush machine, vacuum installation, etc.);
– the ability to perform work anywhere in Ukraine;
– the contractor should be ready to adapt to the schedule of work of your enterprise and have experienced staff in the specified type of work;
– the ability to provide related services and goods that may be required in the future operation of the systems (eg, special sealed and fire-proof inspection hatches for all types of ventilation systems, enabling professionals to independently monitor the state of contamination)
The professional who meets all modern requirements is the company “Forline”. It works with the latest equipment from the well-known and proven Finnish company Lifa Air, which allows thorough cleaning of the ventilation system without disassembly. The company has considerable experience (since 2010) and confidently holds the championship.
The customers of Forline’s services are Farmak Plant, Nestle Plant, Coca-Cola Plant, Myronovsky Poultry Plant, Elfa Plant, Premier Palace Hotel, Intercontinental, Hayat, Khreschatyk , Epicenter and Auchan Networks and many different sites across Ukraine.

An enterprise is a living organism, and the result of its work depends on the coordinated actions of all systems. As in any organism, failures and non-standard situations sometimes occur in the enterprise, and the work of all further processes depends on the speed of their solution and elimination.
The main task for us, as a service company, is to provide such a level of services every day, when everything will work like clockwork, and if emergency situations arise, solve them as quickly as possible so that the client does not notice any changes in their work.
Therefore, when starting to service the enterprise, it is important to consider all the nuances that may arise in the work.
When preparing a proposal or taking part in a tender, a visit to the company by our manager is mandatory. Not always the company that sends the terms of reference for the calculation of the cost of services, itself will be able to pay attention to all the nuances that can affect the final result.
When a contract is signed for servicing an enterprise, the total amount is the whole history of its formation.
The base points in the formation of prices can be arbitrarily designated as three P: Personnel, Premises, Supplies
1. The staff.
We, as a company that appreciates its reputation and works in the long term, always responsibly approach the selection and training of personnel and always focus on current salaries in the Ukrainian market.
The staff payroll fund is the largest part of the costs.
The schedule of the attendants is taken into account, whether a person is needed for maintenance cleaning during the day.
The optimal number of people needed to service the company is calculated. Be sure to take into account people for replacement in case of illness or leaving on planned leave. The need for additional personnel, such as a florist, coffee lady, handyman, security, janitor, etc., is being clarified.
The level of salaries is dictated by the existing labor market. We must understand that a good specialist is a good salary, if we reduce the level of salary, then it becomes more difficult to guarantee a qualified specialist.
2. The room.
The main thing that affects the price is the area of the room.
It is necessary to pay attention to:
– the type of service object – what is this? Production, office, logistics complex, trading company, medical institution, etc .;
– it is a large open space or multi-room system;
– availability and number of bathrooms;
– coating: floor, walls;
– the adjacent territory, the presence of parking or other infrastructure;
– number of storeys and the availability of an elevator;
– Is service maintenance and engineering parts necessary
This is not a complete list of all the components that affect the formation of prices.
3. Supplies
Our company sells related supplies to meet the needs of the office.
We sell household goods and household chemicals.
Our company can additionally offer an extensive list of office maintenance services. We organize curtain washing, disinfection, disinsection and office disinfection, rent of antisplash rugs, we will help with moving and provide movers, we will clean your ventilation system from dirt and grease.
